Hector Anibal, a multifaceted artist of the reinvention
In the middle of a backdrop of political and social instability, limited to military disobedience that put in game the government of President Joaquin Balaguer, when Dominican society still was alarmed after the murder of journalist Orlando Martinez, in San Francisco de Macoris a baby is born, on February 26, 1975, the singer, producer and actor, Hector Anibal Estrella Pantaleon.
His father was a mechanical engineer, an intellectual who was riding between college classes and research. However, his mother was Adalgisa Pantaleon, a recognized female singer of Cuban descent, who filled the stages since her participation at the first National Festival of the Voice and acquires public admiration. "At family gatherings, my sisters and I used to sing. It was normal for us. It was part of what we saw, of the people that we had around us," says Hector Anibal, while he welcomes us at his mother’s house with coffee and a big smile of greeting and cordiality from someone who feels comfortable.
In 1989, his mother replaced Mariela Mercado in the group 4.40 of Juan Luis Guerra. Thereafter, a maelstrom of concerts and international tours added to the family routine. "My sister was one year old when my mother started with these international tours. It was a busy moment, but also with lot of learning and an opportunity to be in contact with great professionals. "
It was expected that between all this daily lives, Hector Anibal, began with just seven years old, recording jingles for radio stations and local brands. "Since childhood I felt the desire to be a singer, especially, after one of the live performance of my mother in the hotel Dominican Fiesta, an image that still chills me".
