Indian Chief Dark Horse; Solo rider fit Motorcycle
The world of high-powered motorcycles has been dominated for many years, and still, by Harley-Davidson. Now it currently has a serious opponent in the market: Indian Motorcycle.
This is a very old rivalry. Indian was founded before Harley, specifi cally in 1901, Springfi eld (Massachusetts). Curiously it’s the birthplace of two major issues: basketball (1891) by James Naismith and the vulcanization of rubber (1844) by Charles Goodyear.
Native Americans inhabited the area due to its geographical disposition and fertile soil. They were called the Massachusetts. The founders of Indian Motorcycle, who were motorcycle riders, chose the Indian name for its historical connotations.
The American brand has recently launched a new model: Indian Chief Dark Horse, its new venture, all in black. Basically, it is an Indian Chief with two innovations: the fi rst one is obvious, its matt dark. The other one is its seat “single”. A bike made for a confi rmed bachelor. It incorporates the famous Thunder Stroke Engine 111 (1.819cm³), and features a keyless starting, ABS and cruise control.
