Female Sexual Dysfunction: desire disorder

Sexual dysfunction is a problem that affects both men and women. In women there are four different types of sexual problems.

• Sexual desire disorder: sexual appetite diminishes or disappears.

• Sexual arousal disorder: body does not feel a sexual response or can remain excited.

• Orgasmic dysfunction: fail to have an orgasm or feel pain when they are having it.

• Disorders that cause pain during sex: pain during or after sexual intercourse.

What are the causes of sexual dysfunction?

Many factors can affect your sex life: medicines, diseases (diabetes, hypertension, depression ...), alcohol consumption or vaginal infections among others. An unhappy relationship as well as the present or past sex abuse can also cause sexual problems.

There are specific stages in a woman life that can also directly affect sexual desire: pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause ...
